The National VistA BCMA Team would like to express our appreciation for Lidia’s participation in A Day in the Life of a BCMA Nurse Informaticist in the Federal EHR on the VistA BCMA National Call on Monday, 1/5/2026.
Lidia shared with 140 VistA BCMA Coordinators in attendance what to expect as their site transitions to the new Federal EHR. Lidia left an impactful impression upon these future BCMA Nurse Informaticists in the Federal EHR with the following topics:
- Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting.
- Daily Nurse Informaticist Workflow and Multidisciplinary Collaboration.
- Training and Onboarding Practices for BCMA.
- Preparation and Best Practices for the FEHR Transition.
- Addressing Field Questions on BCMA Implementation.
Lidia also set expectations for how the FEHR Nurse Informaticist role will contribute to improved Veteran care. Since the presentation, I have received positive feedback for Lidia’s involvement from the informatics staff at the Michigan and Southern Ohio markets. This was a message that these upcoming FEHR sites needed to hear!
