I experienced the most awful phone call for a parent - my son had been in a bad accident, taken to the ER, and spent the weekend in BHS. I felt lost, confused, and very concerned. Laura showed me such empathy and kindness that I gained the strength to be as strong for my son as he needed me to be. She made me comfortable and seen. She acknowledged how hard our situation was but reassured us that we were not alone. It was comforting to know how many have had to endure similar. The short time with Laura had a huge impact. She does her job well and should be recognized, while others should be encouraged to handle patients and their families as she does.
