I would like to nominate Oliva, RN, in the Emergency Department at Lebanon Community Hospital, for the DAISY Award in recognition of her outstanding compassion, professionalism, and exceptional patient care. My mother can be a very difficult patient, and her hospital visit was challenging for everyone involved. Despite this, Oliva consistently showed incredible patience, empathy, and respect. She never treated my mother as a burden or a problem, but instead as a person who deserved dignity, understanding, and kindness. Olivia took the time to listen, explain care clearly, and respond thoughtfully to my mother’s – even when emotions were high. She remained calm, gentle, and compassionate at all times, creating a sense of trust and comfort not only for my mother but for our entire family. Her ability to provide such excellent clinical care truly set her apart and helped my mother feel welcomed and not judged. It is rare to see a nurse who combines skill with such genuine humanity. Olivia’s compassion made a difficult situation manageable and left a lasting impression on our family. She represents the very best of nursing and embodies everything the DAISY Award stands for. We are deeply grateful for Oliva and the exceptional care she provided.
