It is my privilege to recognize my oncology nurse, Caitlin Striefel. Caitlin is the definition of a nurse who goes above and beyond, combining deep clinical knowledge with genuine kindness and compassion.

From the very beginning, Caitlin has taken the time to explain every detail of my treatment plan. She carefully walks me through what each drug is, why it is given, and even what questions I should ask if I ever receive chemotherapy in another location. Her explanations not only help me feel informed, but also safe and empowered in my care.

Caitlin never rushes me. She listens, answers every question thoroughly, and always makes me feel like I am her priority. She has taken the time to know my family and me, and she remembers the small but meaningful details of my life and treatment. That kind of attention makes me feel truly seen and cared for during a difficult journey.

What sets Caitlin apart most is her advocacy. In the medical world, I often feel like I need to fight to make my voice heard. With Caitlin, I never have to carry that burden alone. If I ask her to follow up on something, I know it will get done. She communicates directly with my doctors, makes thoughtful recommendations, and ensures that nothing is overlooked.
