He could see how upset I was about the situation, and we never felt judged about why my husband was admitted.
My husband was admitted with acute liver failure. At that point, we didn't know if his liver was going to go into complete failure or if the hospital could help. Peter was the RN when we were admitted, and I believe he had only 24 hours off the entire 8 days we were there. Those 7 days, he was so patient, so respectful, caring, and super-efficient. He was my husband's favorite nurse, and he loved him.

Peter would make me feel secure and at ease whenever I left my husband for the few breaks I took. He would always reassure me by telling me that my husband would be well taken care of while I was away. He could see how upset I was about the situation, and we never felt judged about why my husband was admitted. Peter would even talk me through my guilt, which was really helpful. I feel bad he'll never know how much I appreciated that. Peter never showed he was tired or burned out and was always in a good mood. He portrays absolute professionalism, care, and kindness, not just for the patients, but also for their stressed-out and neurotic wives!
