From the first moment we arrived with my elderly mom, Allie has been gracious and amazingly kind. Allie first asked Mom if she was comfortable, she asked us about Mom's condition, and patiently let Mom describe her family (nine kids in twelve years!).

Allie described the medical care plan for Mom in great detail, answering all of our questions with great detail. She even found a recliner chair for the room! After looking at Mom's swollen right hand (and checking the records that showed blood clots in the superficial veins there), Allie made sure that Mom had the proper bracelet on her right hand to limit the “pokes” to her left side. Very compassionate! She asked numerous times if we had any other questions and even notified the medical staff when we remembered that Mom has had a history of gout, and she followed up to be sure the Dr. ordered a blood test for it. Above and beyond!

Allie answered the phone for Mom when my sister called (from Hawaii) and kindly asked Mom if she wanted to talk. She made a great connection with the Family! We were nervous about having Mom in another hospital - she’s been in other hospitals besides HF - but Allie has revealed that Henry Ford West Bloomfield is NOT just another hospital. It’s a welcoming and compassionate, caring facility! She is well deserving of a DAISY Award.
