I would like to nominate Olesya Korniyenko, RN, for the DAISY Award in recognition of her exceptional compassion and dedication to patient-centered care.

Olesya recently cared for a patient in Endoscopy who was feeling anxious and uneasy about his upcoming procedure. Recognizing his emotional distress, she took the time to sit with him and offer support in a deeply personal way—by praying with him. The patient later shared that this moment brought him a profound sense of calm and comfort during a very vulnerable time.

Several weeks later, when the same patient returned for surgery, he specifically requested Olesya by name. She once again provided his pre-operative care and, at his request, prayed with him and his family. They expressed heartfelt gratitude for her kindness, empathy, and genuine concern for their well-being.

Olesya’s actions go above and beyond clinical care. She creates meaningful connections with her patients, addressing not only their physical needs but also their emotional and spiritual well-being. Her compassion, professionalism, and commitment to individualized care truly embody the spirit of nursing.

Olesya Korniyenko is an outstanding nurse whose impact leaves a lasting impression on the patients and families she serves. She is highly deserving of the DAISY Award.
