She brings love to her patients through her love for her profession.
I have had 58 surgeries and been taken care of by hundreds of nurses, and until now, I have never had a nurse like Hannah. Her compassion for me was like no one I've had take care of me before.
She listened intently to where the pain was and how it felt, and asked probing questions to isolate what the cause might be. Then, with the doctor's help, she was able to come up with ideas of what it could be and what could be done. Once that was done, she implemented the plan. Many times on the floors, you might be late getting your meds, including pain meds, and all a patient can do is hurt. That was not the case with Hannah. Once the pain management plan was in place, the pain meds were administered on time every time, as were the other meds.
She was very attentive to my needs and made me as comfortable as she could after major surgery. Her sense of humor and a quick smile made the days more bearable. There are those who truly represent their profession as an example of what those in that profession should be. With my background of being a leader in the military as well as business communities, I think I can make that judgment. Without a single doubt and without hesitation, Hannah is the ideal example of what a Nurse should be.
Having been wounded twice and treated by the best nurses in the world, and seeing that nurse's face after you've been wounded, you knew you would be alright, and I see that in Hannah. When she's your nurse, and she looks at you, you know you'll be okay. She exemplifies the nursing profession with her professionalism, her caring, knowledge, and dedication to her patients. She brings love to her patients through her love for her profession.
I proudly say Hannah is the best nurse I've ever had, and I am proud she was my nurse, and I was very lucky to have had her loving, tender care while I was in the hospital. She truly represents what all nurses should be.
