Each day, Tammy provides her patients on the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit with high-quality, skilled, and compassionate care.
Tammy exemplifies the qualities of a DAISY Nurse, and it is my pleasure to nominate her for this prestigious award.
Each day, Tammy provides her patients on the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit with high-quality, skilled, and compassionate care. She excels at truly taking time to listen to what her patients are experiencing and guides them with encouragement and kindness. Tammy does a fantastic job of educating patients and their families, as well as coordinating the multidisciplinary team that is preparing them for discharge.
So many times, I've witnessed Tammy go above and beyond to connect with her patients, sharing her heart and her passion for nursing in ways that inspire them to continue on their rehab journey.
As a coworker, Tammy is a true “team player” through and through. She is always looking for ways to support our team, assist in whatever way is needed across the unit, and collaborate to achieve the best patient outcomes. She picks up shifts frequently when the unit is in need, and she's more than willing to exchange shifts to help her teammates as well.
As a charge nurse, she's the first to offer assistance and an extra hand when needed. She is consistently cool and calm in difficult situations. Tammy has taken on various mentor roles, including working with nursing students and orienting new staff members.
Her selflessness benefits each and every person on the Rehab Unit, colleagues, patients, and families alike.
