When she cares for someone, she does it with the kind of love and empathy you’d expect only from family.
Estelle is officially a wound care specialist at Burjeel, but to us, especially to my uncle, she has been nothing short of a god-sent angel. She’s not just a nurse who treats wounds; she’s a mother who calms him when he’s stubborn, a sister who shows up without being asked, and a friend who makes this difficult journey feel a little lighter.
There was a night that I’ll never forget. My uncle had a sudden emergency with his wound well after clinic hours. Estelle had already gone home after what must have been a long, exhausting day. I was panicked, unsure of what to do. I sent her a voice note, hoping she might eventually see it. Before I could even reach anyone else for help, Estelle replied. Not with hesitation, not with excuses, just: “Bring him to the hospital, I’ll come back and do the dressing myself.” She showed up. No duty, no obligation, just love. Who does that anymore? Especially here, where everything is so fast-paced and transactional, it’s rare, truly rare, to find someone who gives so selflessly.
This is just one of many times Estelle has stepped in for us; not for applause, not for stars on a chart, but because she genuinely cares. From convincing my uncle to undergo important tests to helping me navigate tough conversations with doctors, Estelle has held our hands at every step. When she cares for someone, she does it with the kind of love and empathy you’d expect only from family.
Honestly, she’s beyond this award. In our eyes, she has already won. She has won respect, love, and the kind of gratitude that words can’t express. But in a world where recognition opens doors and helps genuine people climb higher and touch more lives, I believe this award is a small step toward the much bigger journey she’s destined for. I’m not just nominating her, I’m rooting for her, from the deepest part of my heart. Because if anyone truly deserves to be seen, celebrated, and lifted, it’s Estelle. And I would be honored to have played even the smallest role in her success story.
