I have the pleasure of working with this outstanding nurse every shift. Nicola is someone who is even smarter than she knows, always going the extra mile for her patients 100% of the time. She goes above and beyond her job role. She often acts as a guide for patients as an additional care coordinator on their team, navigating the complexities of the healthcare system. Not only does this nominee notify our physicians when her assessment findings are concerning, but she will also communicate with primary care providers and even specialists to get each patient the care they deserve. Recently, Nicola exhibited her stellar care when a patient required CPR at our office. Incidents like these are rare where we work, but this nominee remained calm and acted as a leader amongst the chaos. She had never left the patient's side. She stayed with him, which allowed her to call for help right away. This patient received amazing care from her, and he even returned the following week to our clinic to say, "thank you."
