She always looks for the best in our team and is always looking for ways to improve their performance and growth!!
Nomination #1
Kayla Anderson has gone above and beyond for 9N ASU. Each year for our annual Urology conference, she helps design, set up the booths, write for the continuing education credits, and checks off the team while coming in on odd days and times to complete the task. She coaches new team members during our onboarding, and when I, as the manager, cannot make the onboarding meetings (weekly), she still meets with my new team member to ensure they are on track with their orientation and all needs are met.
She inspires and encourages my experienced team members to develop professionally in supplying educational material for certification. During a performance improvement project on 9N, we were coming in during the night shift to observe handoff communication and bedside shift report to reinforce compliance and importance of doing bedside shift report. This was voluntary on her part, and she gladly accepted the assignment. She always looks for the best in our team and is always looking for ways to improve their performance and growth!!
Nomination #2
Purpose, Excellence, Compassion, Team describe Kayla Anderson:
I am honored to nominate Kayla Anderson, RN, for a DAISY award in recognition of her outstanding contributions as an educator on Oncology Progressive Care (OPC). Kayla exemplifies innovation and dedication in empowering nurses and techs to provide exceptional patient care. Whether onboarding new team members or mentoring experienced nurses, Kayla tailors their teaching/orientation to meet each individual's needs, ensuring that every team member feels capable and prepared.
With Kayla's previous experience as an Inpatient Oncology RN, she understands the complexity of the patient population and the importance of chemotherapy competency. Kayla developed a creative "Candyland"-themed tracking board to guide nurses through the process of becoming "Chemo Competent." She took what could feel like an overwhelming amount of steps/requirements and made it into a motivating, enjoyable, and visual journey. Nurses can easily see where they are along the path, providing clarity and helping to foster a sense of healthy competition with the team.
Kayla's ability to combine education with innovation, motivation, and support sets her apart. She exemplifies the true spirit of the DAISY Award through her passion for teaching, commitment to excellence, and genuine care for her colleagues. I cannot think of a more deserving nominee!
