The simple act of sitting down during pre and post-briefings lets patients know they are listening and not in a hurry.
My mom had scheduled shoulder surgery at PRMC. We were greeted by a pleasant receptionist in the surgery center, and the best care did not stop there. Jennipher and Laura were her nurses throughout the day. Both of these girls were attentive, responsive, and extremely patient. I would like to recognize both of them for the DAISY Award. Mom had requests for warmth and pillows that were readily granted. The ‘baked potato’ blanket was the best. The simple act of sitting down during pre and post-briefings lets patients know they are listening and not in a hurry. What should be noted most about Jennipher and Laura is the fact that they are the face of PRMC to some people who will come in contact with the facility only through the surgery center. While Mom wasn’t in the hospital for an extended stay, Jennipher and Laura offered the best care for 8 hours. That is a first impression and perhaps the only chance PRMC has to make on patients and families. These girls should be recognized for representing exemplary nursing care and compassionate attitudes toward their patients.
