Ms. Stewart ensures that every Veteran receives equitable, compassionate, and safe care.
As a VA nurse for over the past 24 years, I transferred to VAECHCS, and Ms. Stewart has been my preceptor. She has demonstrated exceptional dedication, patience, and professionalism - qualities that make her not only an outstanding nurse, but an extraordinary educator and mentor.

Integrity:
From day one, Ms. Stewart created a supportive and welcoming environment that helped me build my confidence as a learner in this new department. She took the time to explain complex concepts clearly, encouraged critical thinking, and always ensured that I felt valued. Her ability to balance compassionate patient care with effective teaching is truly remarkable. What sets Ms. Stewart apart is her consistent commitment to growth, both in patient care and in herself. She provides constructive feedback with kindness, celebrates progress, and models the highest standards of nursing practice. Her passion for nursing is evident within everything she does and it inspires the same passion in me.

Commitment:
Ms. Stewart serves the Veterans and family members by providing professional, ethical, and personal dedication. She recognizes the unique health care needs of each patient.

Advocacy:
Ms. Stewart ensures that every Veteran receives equitable, compassionate, and safe care. She is a powerful voice for the patient who is not able to speak for themselves, ensuring the Veterans' concerns are addressed. She collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to improve outcomes for the Veteran.

Respect:
Ms. Stewart demonstrates what true respect looks like in practice, through her words, actions, and unwavering commitment to treating every Veteran with dignity.

Excellence:
I have grown not only in clinical skills but also in confidence, professionalism, and empathy. I am deeply grateful for her impact on my development as an OCC nurse.
