Later, when the doctor decided I needed a catheter, the pain was unbearable, but Ariana stood by the bed and held my hand the entire time.
I was waiting to be moved to my room after being admitted when I was transferred to another room in the emergency department, where Ariana became my nurse. The day I visited was the day I graduated from college. I was overwhelmed and in a lot of pain. One of my professors came to visit me. When Ariana walked in, she immediately said we needed to take a picture and took one for us. She kept congratulating me. This made me feel appreciated and seen.

I was in a significant amount of pain and barely able to walk. Arianna held me up and helped me walk. She also noticed some bleeding, so she held up the bottom of my gown to make it look like a romper so I could walk to the bathroom. When I couldn't use the bathroom due to the nature of my visit, Ariana offered me different solutions and even stayed in the bathroom with me, her back turned, to provide support if I needed it.

Later, when the doctor decided I needed a catheter, the pain was unbearable, but Ariana stood by the bed and held my hand the entire time. Afterward, she gave me a sticker that said, "I was brave," which was a small but meaningful gesture that made me feel seen. Even though I only had her as my nurse in the emergency department, Ariana was amazing. She went above and beyond to minimize my pain, ensure I had everything I needed, and make me feel as comfortable as possible during a very vulnerable moment. I appreciated that even though I wasn't her only patient, she made me feel like I was and constantly checked on me. She was also very humble. Each time I thanked her for helping me, she said, "It's my job."
