He elevates people, nurtures growth, strengthens teams, and ensures nurses feel valued, heard, and supported.
It is with great pride and deep gratitude that I nominate Mr. Soud for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. His leadership is extraordinary, not only because of his impressive achievements, but because of the humility, humanity, and unwavering compassion with which he leads. Despite leading complex initiatives across KFSHRC–Jeddah and extending support to KFSHRC, Madinah, Soud remains grounded, approachable, and deeply committed to the wellbeing of every nurse he encounters. His leadership style is the true embodiment of the DAISY spirit, kindness, presence, advocacy, and the ability to uplift others during the most challenging moments.
Transformational Leadership in Action
Soud has led and contributed to numerous high-impact initiatives, including:
• Co-leading the hospital-wide DEI initiatives and facilitating DEI workshops that created safer, more inclusive spaces for staff.
• Leading the Wellbeing Ambassador initiative, bringing together nurses from diverse specialities to deliver the Wellbeing Webinar, Wellbeing Rounds, and the Wellbeing programmes that have tangibly supported staff wellbeing.
• Supporting KFSHRC–Madinah by strengthening Nursing Recruitment and Retention strategies.
• Contributing to the development of the KFSHRC-J Nursing Dashboard, enhancing transparency and supporting data-driven nursing leadership.
• Leading the 2025 Magnet visit to the United States, representing the Jeddah site with professionalism and excellence.
• He has been chosen to speak at the Magnet 2026 conference as a podium speaker on Nursing Recognition initiatives.
• Maintaining remarkably low vacancy and turnover rates, supported by data forecasting, planning, and proactive engagement with staff.
• Advocating consistently for nurses, ensuring staff concerns are escalated to higher leadership with fairness, transparency, and a solutions-focused approach.
• Co-authoring the Code Lavender publication, achieving international recognition for the hospital’s compassionate care initiatives.
• Empowering his team to achieve first-time scholarly success, including podium and poster presentations at the October 2025 Nursing Research Symposium, an unprecedented milestone for a Recruitment and Retention team.
A Humanitarian Leader
What truly makes Soud exceptional, and why he deserves this award, is his humanitarian approach to leadership.
Our team faced several significant challenges this year. Yet Soud’s calm presence, emotional intelligence, and genuine concern for others created a protective and supportive environment. He routinely checks in on his team not as a formality, but from a place of sincere care.
"Are you okay?" is a question he asks often, and it is always backed by action.
When the team is short, he steps in. When difficult decisions arise, he guides with fairness and clarity. When someone struggles, he listens deeply.
Leadership That Empowers
Soud leads with trust. He empowers us to think critically, contribute openly, and make decisions confidently. He never micro-manages; instead, he creates space for growth, reflection, and innovation.
As a manager, I feel truly supported, knowing I have both independence and a leader who is always available for guidance. His leadership is not positional; it is relational, compassionate, and transformative.
Conclusion
Soud exemplifies everything the DAISY Nurse Leader Award represents. He elevates people, nurtures growth, strengthens teams, and ensures nurses feel valued, heard, and supported. His leadership has had a profound impact not only on the outcomes of our department but on the wellbeing and professional development of countless staff.
He ensures to develop his team by encouraging them to further their studies, fine-tune their specialty skills, and take part in research.
For his extraordinary compassion, advocacy, and transformative influence on nursing practice, I wholeheartedly nominate Mr. Soud for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award.
Great thanks and appreciation to Soud for his commitment, leadership, and advocacy for nurses, DEI, MAGNET, belonging, research, and mentorship.
