The attention and care we received from Sharo went far beyond routine nursing duties; she demonstrated a genuine interest in our well-being.
This note serves to extend my recognition and gratitude to Nurse Sharo Bosch at LBJ Hospital in the NICU unit.
Just a few days after she was born, my baby was admitted on an emergency basis because she was weak, not feeding well, and her lab results were abnormal. This was a period of great stress and anxiety for me as a first-time mother.
My daughter was under Nurse Sharo Bosch’s care during the summer of this year. Throughout this period, the nurse contributed enormously to my daughter's recovery and helped me significantly as I adjusted to being a mother for the first time. The attention and care we received from Sharo went far beyond routine nursing duties; she demonstrated a genuine interest in our well-being.
Mindful that I was a first-time mother, Sharo worked with me to establish a routine for learning newborn care. Under her guidance, I learned both basic and advanced infant care skills, ranging from oral and tube feeding to the importance of breastfeeding and rest, as well as how to interpret my daughter's cues. This was essential knowledge that had not been explained to me in detail when my daughter was first born.
She put a great deal of effort into this aspect of my care, and for that, I am deeply grateful for her dedication and patience with me, as learning so many things at once can be overwhelming.
She also made sure that I fully understood everything the doctors explained to me, from medications and diagnostic tests to the various procedures my daughter underwent. Through this attentive care, Sharo helped bridge the linguistic and cultural barriers that many Hispanics often encounter within the U.S. healthcare system.
I knew I could count on her whenever I had a doubt or a question regarding the doctors or other clinical staff.
I do not typically write notes of recognition, but I truly value Sharo’s dedication and efforts, as they made a profound difference during our hospitalization.
My daughter and I are now happy and enjoying this new chapter in our lives, and I feel empowered by the knowledge and support I received from Sharo.
It is truly heartwarming to know that there are nurses like her who genuinely cherish their patients, demonstrating that care through their extraordinary empathy, understanding, and compassion.
