She stayed with me and helped me feel less alone and safe as we waited for the doctor to come and confirm that I was having a miscarriage.
Meagan has made a meaningful difference for me on multiple occasions. My initial interaction with her was when I was in labor with my daughter back in October of 2024. I will never forget her presence and how she helped me through one of the most painful and intimate moments of my life. She ensured there was continued notice of my needs and wishes. For example, she was on my right side during delivery to make sure my hip was safe, as I have had previous hip issues. Her voice was one of the only things I could process as I was about to deliver my baby. I can still remember her saying to me, "Come on, you can do this. You are strong. You've got more fight in you."
After delivering my baby and being at the hospital for the night, Meagan's shift ended, and as she was saying goodbye, I can still remember holding back tears as the person who got me through so much was about to go. I knew I would see her again. Moving forward to January of 2026, I was 11 weeks pregnant when I had my first ultrasound. The ultrasound did not indicate a positive outcome, and I had not yet been notified of the results. When I went into Seaside Women's Care and asked if anyone could help me confirm what I already knew, Meagan was the one who came out to take me to a patient room. She gave me a big, comforting hug. She stayed with me and helped me feel less alone and safe as we waited for the doctor to come and confirm that I was having a miscarriage.
Meagan was an anchor for me as I received heartbreaking news. I could not be more thankful that she was there to bring me comfort when I was falling apart. I have now learned that she is about to become a midwife. Absolutely nothing gives me more excitement and security as we prepare to have another baby than knowing she will still be there to care for my family and me. It only feels right that after all she has done for me, I write to express how deserving she is of the DAISY Award. Please consider Meagan for this award, as I am confident I am but one of many mothers that she has brought so much light to when we needed it most.
