It was incredible to watch how Marta earned that trust and how consistently she showed up for her patient.
Marta is a very smart and empathetic person, which is why I consider her a good friend. Earlier this year I got sick and my doctors weren't able to tell me what it was and I told Marta about it and she went above and beyond to do research she helped me figure out what could be wrong and how I could try to feel better. She is always checking up on me, making sure I'm doing well health-wise, at home, and at work. We have built a lot of trust, and I know I can always go to her with anything. She doesn't have a hair of judgment in her, which makes it easy to talk to her about anything. She is so smart and so knowledgeable, and I have always admired that about her. On top of all of that she is so funny and she never fails to make me laugh.

Marta is an exceptionally helpful nurse who consistently makes patients feel heard and seen, without judgment, regardless of their circumstances.

I personally worked with Marta on a tuberculosis case where we visited a couple at their home to ensure they were taking their medication. This couple initially resisted taking their medication due to other health issues. Marta was incredible with them; once she started working with them, they became much more willing to comply. She achieved this by actively listening to their concerns and offering encouragement throughout their difficult journey. Marta even went out of her way to pick up their medications and brought them tea and other items to help them stay hydrated, especially after one of them had to go to the ER due to dehydration. I'm fully convinced Marta loves her job, and she continues to demonstrate it with her dedication.

Working with Marta has been an absolute joy. She is the kind of nurse anyone would want caring for them—patient, compassionate, and genuinely dedicated. Marta once cared for a patient who needed treatment for several months. In the beginning, the patient was anxious and resistant, making it difficult to provide care. But as the days went by, the patient began to feel comfortable with Marta. She started taking her medications as directed, without excuses, because she trusted Marta. Every day, Marta called the patient to make sure she had taken her pills and to check on how she was feeling. She always took a few minutes to ask about her day, and she could bring out a smile even during the hardest times. Even on her days off, Marta made sure someone checked in so the patient never felt alone.

The patient didn’t have much family support—just her husband—so the trust she built with Marta meant even more. It was incredible to watch how Marta earned that trust and how consistently she showed up for her patient. By the end of the treatment, the patient thanked Marta for everything she had done and for staying on top of everything needed to help her heal. It was a situation that will always stay with me, and I feel lucky to have witnessed the work of such an exceptional nurse.
