I am honored to nominate Lamar Smith for the DAISY in Training Award in recognition of his outstanding performance during his Women’s Health rotation at Baptist and Touro. Lamar was recognized by Nurse Rebecca, Nurse Heather, Nurse Lucy, Dr. Sullivan, and a few other members of the healthcare team for his exceptional professionalism and dedication to patient care. He consistently demonstrated attentiveness to his laboring patients, ensuring their needs were met with both skill and compassion. Lamar takes the time to provide clear and thoughtful explanations, helping patients feel informed, supported, and at ease during their care. What sets Lamar apart is his deep understanding of clinical practice. He not only performs interventions proficiently but also demonstrates a strong grasp of their rationale.
