We had our oldest kiddo in the ED recently. He had fallen and had a super swollen elbow - spoiler, it was broken. Lee was his nurse, and from the get-go, Lee made our son feel so seen and heard. Our son was extremely scared and in pain, but the whole team was so compassionate, worked as a team so well, and put him at ease. Lee connected with him right away and had him laughing and smiling. He even pulled up videos on YouTube for him to watch while he was waiting.

When they were trying to get X-rays, and it was too painful, but he didn't want pain medicine, Lee figured out he was scared of the IV, so he talked him through the process. That compassion in taking the extra time to connect with him made all the difference. Lee was able to get the IV right in and get him comfortable.

Lee was with him every step of the way; he worked so well with the whole team that was helping our son, and I felt his going above and beyond to connect made all the difference to our child. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking such great care of our kiddo. My words will never be enough to express our gratitude. IU Health Tipton Hospital is such a phenomenal place for care, and the team showed that SO well!
