I came in to L&D on a Saturday, very pregnant and extremely ill, very scared as a first-time mom as to what the day could hold for me. Adelyn was so kind and reassuring to me. The next weekend, I came to L&D again and was in active labor, I was absolutely petrified and in so much pain, she asked my boyfriend and I if we wanted her to pray over us. It was so thoughtful and left the both of us in tears. Her level of professionalism is absolutely off the charts, but her ability to show care and compassion at the same time is astonishing.

Adelyn spent nearly 8 hours straight helping me during a very long and painful labor, and I was very sad when it was time for shift change. Seeing her the next day and still being under her care was an absolute breath of fresh air as my first day as a mom. She shared so many tips about motherhood, postpartum, breastfeeding, and all things about being a mom.

The following day, while we were going home and Adelyn was checking our car seat and seeing us off, she gave me a big hug and told me to call her if I needed anything. I honestly felt sad to go home and not have her positive spirit around anymore. My mom even made a comment about how she thought Adelyn was a friend of mine that I knew before hand, not a nurse I had just met the weekend before.

Adelyn truly has a gift for caring for patients and if I ever seek care from Mercy Perry Labor & Delivery again, I pray she is the one taking care of me.
