Cancer! They say this is the gift that keeps giving.
My loved one started this cancer journey 20 years ago. The third time this came back, we began head and neck radiation and chemotherapy in early 2025. We were just starting to come out of the woods and ended up being admitted to Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene over the holidays.
Being in the hospital for about a week, Gabe Shrank, RN, became the nurse on the lytic therapy floor. He was confident in his nursing skills, very compassionate, and made it his goal to help us in every way possible and to make the stay as easy as it could be.
I do believe that God has a purpose behind the things His children go through, bringing blessings into our lives because of it. Gabe was definitely a blessing in our lives while he was caring for my loved one, and we are very grateful for that.
Kootenai Health is very lucky to have so many great care providers, and we wanted to recognize Gabe, as he excelled in all aspects of his care. Thank you.
