I pray I am never in this situation again, but if I needed to be, I would hope that Ross would be the one caring for us.

My husband was brought in after being struck by a vehicle. Ross was his daytime Nurse for many of the days we were there. Ross was always kind and answered any questions I had. He never had a problem explaining everything that was going on and what they were doing for treatment.

I came to the room to hang up a sign on a hook that was already there on the back wall. Ross asked if he could take it from me, and he hung it on an IV pole so that it would be more visible.

I know on more than one occasion he said he would reach out to the provider and ask if a medication or dosage could be changed to better help my husband. There was a "no touch" order put in place, and he let me know that he was the one who asked for that due to trying to control the pressure in my husband's brain.

Unfortunately, the prognosis was not good, and we had to bring my kids in to say goodbye to their dad. He was on a constant EEG machine, and Ross was able to make it so all of those leads were off, at least while my kids were in the room. I greatly appreciated him doing that so their dad would not look so scary.

Not only did Ross go above and beyond with the care he provided, but he also made arrangements to switch days and was there for my husband's Honor Walk. He was in the room with me caring for him until he took his final breath.

I cannot even count the number of hugs Ross gave me when I needed comfort or how sincerely he apologized, knowing that I was having to make the decision to let my husband pass.

I pray I am never in this situation again, but if I needed to be, I would hope that Ross would be the one caring for us. I do not even have all the words and cannot thank Ross enough.
