The miracle, the blessing, the ray of sunshine, the daisy that walked into our lives is Daytona Smedsrud. We are writing this with great gratitude to recognize this extraordinary nurse who has had a profound impact on our family, especially on our daughter’s journey through this challenging time.

From the moment she walked into our daughter’s ICU doors, Daytona was a blessing. She brought comfort, faith, hope, and smiles to our daughter’s beautiful face. The connection she formed with our daughter was almost angelic. She held her hand, prayed with her, cared for her, and listened from the bottom of her heart to her. The care she provided was miraculous.

Obviously, in medicine, you want someone with skill and judgment to make your child healthy and better. More importantly, Daytona had true compassion that set her apart. She provided care at all levels. Our daughter put faith above all through this traumatic accident. Daytona was able to connect with her at this level and honored faith while providing exceptional care…this is truly remarkable.

Her work is more than a job. Daytona fulfills life with grace, dedication, and love. We are forever grateful for the blessing she has been in our lives.
