While in-flight on a jet, an urgent announcement was made by the lead flight attendant requesting assistance from a doctor or nurse. A passenger in the back of the plane was in distress. Without hesitation, Tracey Findling sprang into action and made her way to the back of the plane. With the assistance of the flight attendant and a provider on the ground, she quickly assessed that the passenger was experiencing a drop in blood sugar and suggested providing orange juice.

Additionally, this was the passenger's first trip on a plane, and he was experiencing anxiety. Tracey was able to calm both the patient and his companion. For the remainder of the trip, the patient received oxygen, and paramedics boarded the plane upon landing to further assess him. Thanks to Tracey's swift and compassionate response, the patient was able to recover and leave the plane on his own power. Because of these actions and Tracey's compassion to help others, I believe she is a true DAISY Nurse.
