After bravely battling cancer, my mother, underwent a mastectomy and understandably felt fearful about what might come next, especially given her high risk for infection. During this incredibly vulnerable time, we were fortunate to have a nurse named Rod, whose compassion, patience, and humanity made all the difference in her recovery experience.

Although English is his first language, he made every effort to bridge the language barrier so she could feel understood and supported.
