I would like to nominate Jessica for the incredible care and compassion she showed me during my second breast cancer surgery. As I was waiting for surgery, I sat with tears in my eyes and a heart full of fear. When Jessica walked into the room, everything changed. 
From the moment she spoke, her calm presence and reassuring words instantly gave me confidence that everything was going to be okay. She wheeled my bed to surgery, chatting with me the entire way, helping distract me from the fear and making me feel like I wasn’t alone. She helped me walk into that cold operating room and continued giving me a sense of calm and reassurance every step of the way. When we walked into the room, she asked me if I loved the music that was playing. I said, “Oh yes,” and that is the last thing I remember before surgery — a moment of peace, comfort, and normalcy in the middle of something so scary. She didn’t just do her job — she made me feel seen, safe, and supported during one of the hardest moments of my life. Because of Jessica, I went into surgery feeling stronger, calmer, and deeply cared for. I will never forget the comfort she gave me that day, and I am so grateful for her kindness and professionalism.
