I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care and kindness your staff provided during my daughter's stay at Trinity Oakland, ICU. From the moment we arrived, your staff's professionalism, patience, and compassion made a world of difference.

On a Friday, the unthinkable happened to my family; we lost our precious daughter. She was a vibrant, stubborn, loving daughter, fiancée, sister, and aunt. Born just 42 years ago, at this same hospital, she finally found the love of her life and was engaged to be married. When she was admitted to the ICU, she was incredibly sick. She was cared for by two amazing nurses (and an entire team of support people), and I want to highlight both angels.

Ryan was her night shift nurse, and Kacie was her day nurse. Kacie was kind, compassionate, understanding, and warm-hearted. I am a retired RN and can spot those nurses who are called to this profession, and Kacie was definitely in that category. Ryan was truly her Angel. A little background to this story, Ryan also cared for my husband, R, during his final hours on the same unit just 15 months ago. I truly believe my husband made sure Ryan was her nurse.

Ryan exemplifies what nursing is truly about. Compassionate, caring, knowledgeable, kind, supportive, and truthful are just a few words that come to mind. He was honest with all of us and supportive as we made the difficult decision to change her to comfort care and caring to all of us as we said goodbye to our precious daughter. Ryan made such an impact on our family at the absolute worst time of our lives, and we truly will never forget.
