I am completing this on behalf of my two parents. My mother, who was there for a procedure the first week of January, and my father, who was there for a procedure the second week of January. I had the opportunity to hear from my mom about Kacie's compassion during the procedure. Kacie is attentive, has a smile on her face, and returns when she says she will. I was able to witness firsthand during my dad's procedure. I had heard from my parents about the positive experience, but I had the privilege to see it myself. It is clear Kacie cares about her patients. My dad was having his first procedure, and Kacie did not skip a beat in making sure he was okay. Kacie would consistently make sure he understood what she did, why, and when. And made sure we understood, through consistent follow-up.

She was personable and did not shy away from cracking jokes, which made us feel more comfortable. Kacie would say I'll be back in 15 minutes and surely enough, Kacie was there, ensuring my dad, and we, were taken care. I asked Kacie if my dad has to stay overnight, if she would pass it on to someone else, and if she would make sure we met her. Kacie quickly said, with a smile, "I am here; I will be here with him until he leaves, and take care of him." Whether she might stay late or leave at some point, Kacie consistently showed us that we were in good hands. As someone who works in a hospital, I find it such a privilege to see someone like Kacie working at my hometown hospital. We are thankful for Kacie and believe she is a great representative of what a DAISY Honoree should be. You went above and beyond for us. For your patient and family, and ultimately, our experience was better because of you.
