Her compassion extended beyond clinical care-she listened, comforted, encouraged, and made sure we felt confident and supported.
Following my c-section at 37 weeks, I was recovering physically and emotionally while also facing feeding difficulties with my baby, who struggled with bottle feeding. From the very beginning, Blake went above and beyond what could be expected of her role. She consistently demonstrated compassion, patience, and an unwavering commitment to ensuring that both my baby and I, and even my husband, felt supported, safe, and cared for. She took the time to carefully assess my baby's feeding challenges, offering hands-on guidance, reassurance, and practical solutions without ever making me feel rushed, discouraged, or overwhelmed. She, on multiple occasions, offered to feed the baby so we could rest and was always ready to assist with feeding whenever we struggled to get the baby to latch. Her calm demeanor and gentle encouragement made an incredibly stressful situation feel manageable. She worked tirelessly to ensure my baby was fed, comfortable, and closely monitored, often checking in even when it wasn't required.

What truly set her apart was her genuine kindness and dedication. She treated both my baby and me not just as patients, but as people. She also looked out for my husband, making sure to check in on him. Her compassion extended beyond clinical care-she listened, comforted, encouraged, and made sure we felt confident and supported. Because of her exceptional care, knowledge, and selflessness, my experience was far more positive than it otherwise would have been. She embodies everything the DAISY Award stands for, and I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this recognition. Thank you for taking the time to consider this nomination and for recognizing nurses who make such a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families.
