Our adoptive daughter was born and immediately began withdrawing from drugs. She spent over 10 days in the NICU, and during that time we rarely left her side. It was an incredibly emotional and overwhelming experience, but Alicia made it manageable.

From the very beginning, Alicia provided exceptional care not only to our daughter, but to us as well. She was patient, kind, and took the time to educate us on how to properly care for our baby, always making sure we felt supported and confident. Her calm demeanor brought peace into a situation that often felt chaotic and frightening. You could truly see her passion for nursing in everything she did. She went above and beyond in every way. Her compassion, knowledge, and genuine concern for our daughter stood out immediately. We trusted her so much that when we found out she was returning on shift, we specifically requested her again.

Although staying in the NICU for over 10 days was incredibly difficult, Alicia made that time easier to endure. She showed up for us with empathy, professionalism, and grace, and we will never forget the care she provided during one of the most vulnerable moments of our lives. We are deeply thankful for her and everything she did for our daughter and our family. She is truly the definition of a nurse, and she embodies everything the DAISY Award represents.
