Carolyn Williams is a gifted educator whose compassion, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to students have transformed lives across our program.

Students consistently describe her as genuinely interested in their learning, respectful, patient, and deeply invested in their success. She brings course content to life with enthusiasm, making learning meaningful and motivating students to ask questions, push themselves, and remain committed to nursing.

Several nominations highlight Carolyn’s extraordinary support during crises. When a student’s daughter was hospitalized and she struggled to balance coursework and family, Carolyn went far beyond a routine response—by personally checking in, offering extensions, regularly following up, and making sure the student never felt like an inconvenience. That care preserved the student’s academic progress and confidence during one of her hardest moments.

Carolyn also mentors students through academic setbacks and high-pressure situations. She helped a student who had been dropped twice regain hope, supported her mental health, and stayed in contact long after the course ended. Another student credits Carolyn’s timely outreach, encouragement, and intensive preparation for the VISE session for allowing her to catch up after missed time and graduate on schedule.

Colleagues note Carolyn’s infectious enthusiasm, spiritual and emotional support (even offering prayer), and her reputation for putting students’ success first. Whether tutoring one-on-one, preparing students for Boards, or standing beside them in crisis, Carolyn models the heart of nursing: empathy, integrity, and relentless advocacy.
