Katherine not only did an excellent job caring for B during her labor, especially in the period leading up to the administration of her epidural, but also made herself available even when not specifically assigned to us. After B's C-section, she was unable to properly understand how to operate her breast pump due to being so recently out of surgery.  Later that night, after recovering, Katherine stopped to ask how B was doing and provided a helpful, professional, and in-depth lesson on many aspects surrounding breast pumping and feeding. Katherine never failed to check in whenever she saw B or me. Katherine represents all the best things within a labor and delivery nurse; she deserves so much more than just this Award, and I hope she is recognized for her obvious passion and skill in the nursing field.​ ​

Katherine had excellent bedside manner. She went above and beyond, explaining every step she was doing. Katherine was a soft and soothing presence that helped me through contractions and getting my epidural, and she stayed past her shift when she noticed my child's heart rate was dropping during contractions. She takes her job very seriously, but is so kind and respectful to each person present.
