On behalf of our entire family, we want to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation for the extraordinary compassion, dignity, and humanity you have shown us during one of the most painful moments of our lives.
As we walk through the heartbreaking journey of preparing to say goodbye to my beloved brother, your team has been nothing short of remarkable. In a time filled with grief, uncertainty, and emotional exhaustion, each nurse, doctor, technician, therapist, support staff member, and caregiver has reminded us what true compassion looks like.
We especially want to recognize Sierra Schabowski from the ICU, along with the many incredible members of your staff who have gone above and beyond for our family. Sierra has been truly amazing. Her kindness, patience, warmth, professionalism, and genuine compassion have brought comfort to us during moments that felt unbearable. She cared not only for my brother, but also for the hearts of the people standing beside him. That type of care cannot be taught. It comes from a truly special human being.
The ICU staff have treated my brother not as just another patient, but as a man deserving of dignity, love, respect, and gentle care. Every conversation, every moment of reassurance, every act of compassion has mattered more than words can properly express.
There is something profoundly special about people who choose to care for others during their most vulnerable moments in life. You stand beside families when they are broken, frightened, and grieving, and somehow still manage to bring calming peace, comfort, and humanity into the room. That isn't a profession. That is a calling.
As my brother prepares for his journey to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we find comfort knowing he has been surrounded by such caring and selfless individuals. God works through people, and we truly believe He has worked through every one of you during this difficult chapter of our lives.
Thank you for the late nights, the comforting words, the gentle care, the honesty, the prayers, the hugs, the understanding, and the love you have shown our family. These moments will never be forgotten.
