We are so grateful for Sheri and the difference she made in our lives and in the care she gave to our son.
We were so fortunate to have Sheri as our son’s NICU nurse following his birth in December.

Having had a NICU experience before, we thought we knew what to expect, but Sheri still went above and beyond to make sure all of our questions were answered and we weren’t left in the dark on any of our son’s care. She delivered the best care, and in our interactions we learned that she is still continuing her education to provide the best possible care she can.

When our son got his first bath, Sheri made sure everything in the room was clean and sanitized, including our phones, to help prevent any sickness or infection.

As she cared for our son, she also cared for us as parents. Not only did she take the time to educate us, but she also took the time to get to know our family and us. When our older daughter came to visit, Sheri took the time to come and meet her and teach her how to be a backup mommy when we got home. Our daughter still talks about that, and about meeting Sheri to this day.

When we were discharged from the hospital, we felt that we had made a new friend in Sheri.

Sheri worked with the team and with us in the NICU to give our son the best possible care. When I mentioned that I might want to nurse but was unsure about it because of previous experience, Sheri took me under her wing to make sure I could be successful in that endeavor. She worked with me, my husband, and the lactation consultants in the hospital to help me and help my son be able to nurse. She called our hospital room when he was ready to eat and made sure we were comfortable and that he was eating each time.

I will always remember her staying in the room, calming my fears, and being my cheerleader when it came to this new experience.

We are so grateful for Sheri and the difference she made in our lives and in the care she gave to our son. In a place that can cause so much fear and uncertainty, Sheri was able to provide comfort and answers to our questions.

While at the hospital, she took the time to talk with us about our lives and provided advice and encouragement about what was going on with our son. As I struggled with my fears, Sheri took me under her wing and treated me as if I was her own daughter to help me understand and become comfortable with what was going on.

Whenever we had questions about our son’s care, Sheri was always knowledgeable and empathetic in her answers.

As we were preparing for my discharge from the hospital, we wanted to know what else he would need to do to graduate from the NICU and come home. Sheri was clear and helpful in explaining what he would need to do in order to come home.

As our son progressed, she was able to be our champion by showing what he was doing and allowing him the opportunity to be a healthy baby and be given the chance to prove that he was ready to come home.

As she helped with our son’s discharge, she reassured us that he was healthy and doing everything he needed to do to be able to go home. Her words of encouragement helped to alleviate the anxieties that most parents feel when leaving the hospital with their new baby.

I will always look back on our experience with happiness thanks to Sheri.
