When my 81-year-old mother was admitted to the hospital with sepsis and pneumonia everyone in our small family of 6 was terrified, fearing that she would not survive. Emotions were raw and elevated, and we were definitely on edge. Little did we know that God was sending us a great blessing.

In walked our nurse, Talley, she was to be mom’s daytime nurse over the next 6 days. Mom frequently hallucinated and was confused. She thought her nurse was her granddaughter because of the gentleness, love, and compassion that she showed her. Mom could feel the love, and we could feel the compassion that she had for us, the family, as we dealt with this serious medical issue.

Talley’s compassion, kindness and concern for all of us is a testament to her character and reverence. In addition she never seemed rushed, she was always truthful with my mom, and with us. Her bedside manner consisted of expertise, comfort, compassion and kindness. She is by far the most superior nurse we have encountered in this long, winding and difficult journey that we are currently facing as a family.
