I was in the hospital for several days which was very new to me and I was having a lot of tests run on my heart and brain. I was having a lot of symptoms that continue to this day, and the whole experience was a little scary for me. Sam was absolutely amazing. She clearly had my comfort as her number one concern.

I know how busy she was, but somehow she always found time for me. I really don’t know how she did it. She made me feel like I was her only patient. She was the kindest and most thoughtful nurse I’ve ever had. I simply could never thank her enough for everything she did for me while I was there.

She seemed to anticipate my every need, and when I thanked her over and over again, she would just shrug her shoulders and say, “I do what I love to do.” On her day off, I heard from another nurse that she called to see how I was doing and to tell me I was on her heart. She touched my heart in so many ways.

The day before I was discharged, on her day off, she came up to see me just to check in on me and chat and tell me she was thinking about me. I want everyone to know how special she is. She would actually make a good supervisor, so she could teach nurses how to help their patients as much as she helped me.
