My grandmother was transported to SSM Janesville for an unknown medical problem. It was later discovered that she had a major brain bleed and needed emergent transport to SSM Madison for emergency surgery. There were many unknowns, such as whether my grandma would even make it to Madison in time since Med Flight wasn't flying at the time. A doctor brought my entire family back to see my grandma before the ambulance transported her. My entire family was hysterical as we weren't sure if we would see her again. I had my 1-year-old son with me as we rushed to the hospital as soon as we heard she was being transported. Nurse Abbie Pass saw I was having a hard time, so she grabbed my shoulder and told me everything was going to be okay. She then noticed my husband was holding our son, who was being very fussy. She offered to take my son from my husband, and she and nurse Heidi kept him entertained while my family spent time with my grandmother. Nurse Abby Pass went above and beyond by helping my family spend time with my grandmother before she was transported. The whole staff that day provided exceptional care in order to get the best possible outcome for my grandmother. Their quick action and decision-making are the reason my grandmother was able to have a successful surgery. My entire family thanks you from the bottom of their hearts.
