At the end of every day, for 14 weeks, it was Ms. Paula who kept me alive.
Ms. Paula saved my life, in my opinion.
I delivered my baby and immediately needed consultation and Ms. Paula was incredibly accommodating. I struggled to breastfeed, and Paula worked with me every week, sometimes twice a week, to figure out what was going wrong.
She listened and helped and knew exactly what was a driving factor throughout our many appointments. She coached me and guided me through it all and taught me so much about lactation and also infants' eating.
This empowered me and helped me realize although I was doing everything correctly, producing milk just wasn’t going to happen and it wasn’t my fault.
After discovering the onset of my postpartum depression, she asked for permission to collaborate with my baby’s pediatrician. They were both instrumental in alleviating the severity of my PPD symptoms.
In short, Paula was so incredibly knowledgeable, patient, kind, non-judgmental, and understanding. My ultimate goal was always “fed is best” while exhausting all efforts to produce.
Ms. Paula supported me and metaphorically hugged me through it all. If I had not had my appointments and all the skills given to me by Ms. Paula, I’m convinced I would’ve committed suicide.
