Throughout her time in the nursing program, Julianna has consistently demonstrated the compassion, commitment, leadership, and excellence that embody the spirit of the DAISY Award. She possesses a genuine passion for nursing and a commitment to serving others, making a meaningful impact on patients, peers, faculty, and the community.
In the clinical setting, Julianna regularly received positive feedback from the nurses with whom she worked. They frequently commented on her engagement, willingness to help, eagerness to learn, and professionalism. During clinical experiences and post-conference discussions, Julianna enthusiastically shared her learning experiences, demonstrating curiosity and a sincere dedication to providing quality patient care. Her compassionate nature allows her to connect with patients while maintaining the professionalism and critical thinking expected of a future nurse. Julianna's compassion extends beyond her patients to her fellow students. As a tutor for the Guided Study Group (GSG) in Maternal/Child Nursing (NURSI 1230), she devoted her time and energy to helping others succeed. Her willingness to mentor and support her peers reflects her commitment to others' success. Many students benefited from her guidance, patience, and ability to explain complex concepts in an approachable and encouraging manner.
Her commitment to serving others is further shown by her participation in a medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic during the summer of 2025. While the experience itself was impactful, what was most remarkable was its lasting effect on Julianna. Upon returning home, she sought ways to continue supporting the families she had encountered. Motivated by their needs, she organized a diaper drive and raised funds to provide diapers for infants and young children in underserved communities within the Dominican Republic. Through her initiative and dedication, numerous families were impacted.
Julianna possesses a strong work ethic and approaches challenges with a positive, "can-do" attitude. She is dependable, self-motivated, and consistently strives for excellence in all that she does. Her positive outlook and determination inspire those around her and contribute to a supportive learning environment. In addition to her academic and clinical accomplishments, Julianna is actively involved in organizations that support both the nursing student body and community. As a member of the nursing honor society and the Student Nurses Association (SNA), she participated in numerous service and professional development initiatives and dedicated herself to mentoring newer nursing students.
