Alexia "Lexi" Rodriguez was nominated by a patient’s family member after providing exceptional care during a life-threatening emergency. In a moment filled with uncertainty, her calm, methodical, and compassionate approach brought clarity and comfort to both the patient and his family. 

The nomination submitted read, in part, “Without fast action taken by Lexi, he may not have fared so well.” From starting an IV with remarkable skill to taking the time to explain a serious diagnosis in a way the patient and family could clearly understand, Rodriguez helped ensure her patient felt informed, safe, and supported every step of the way. 

What stood out most to the family was Rodriguez’s ability to make the patient feel like he was her only priority, even in the fast-paced environment of the Emergency Department. “He was comfortable enough to ask questions,” the nomination read, “because she made him feel like he was her only patient.”
