Witt 2 is more than a team; they are a family united by a shared commitment to excellence, kindness, and patient-centered care.
The Witt 2 team consistently makes a meaningful difference in the lives of the patients and families they serve. This exceptional group of professionals is the foundation of the unit’s success, demonstrating resilience, compassion, teamwork, and an unwavering commitment to excellence in everything they do.

Recently, Witt 2 faced a significant challenge when the unit was split between two locations to support the hospital's operational needs. With little notice, the team came together and successfully completed a full unit relocation in less than a week. Every team member played a vital role, taking ownership of responsibilities and working collaboratively to ensure patient care remained seamless throughout the transition. Despite the disruption, the team maintained a positive attitude, adapted quickly, and continued delivering high-quality care without compromising the patient experience. What was particularly remarkable was the way the Witt 2 team carried its culture wherever it went. Even while temporarily dispersed, team members continued to celebrate one another, support colleagues, and maintain the strong sense of connection that defines their unit. Their positivity was contagious, uplifting not only their own team but also the teams and units they joined during the transition.

Beyond supporting one another, the Witt 2 team has elevated the patient experience through intentional acts of recognition and encouragement. The team understands that small victories can have a profound impact on recovery and healing. To celebrate patient milestones, team members gather at the bedside to present a Star Performer medal, recognizing accomplishments and encouraging patients to take pride in their progress.

While simple in concept, the impact has been extraordinary. One patient shared that receiving a Star Performer medal provided the motivation and emotional support needed to continue moving forward during a difficult recovery. Another memorable moment involved a patient with a disability who proudly stood before his mother to receive his medal. The patient later shared that it was the first award he had ever received. The joy and pride on his face created a moment that will remain with both the patient and the care team for years to come.

These thoughtful acts of compassion, recognition, and encouragement reflect the heart of the Witt 2 team. Their ability to adapt during times of change, support one another through challenges, and create meaningful moments for patients exemplifies the very essence of the Team DAISY Award.
Witt 2 is more than a team; they are a family united by a shared commitment to excellence, kindness, and patient-centered care. Their culture of resilience, collaboration, and compassion positively impacts every patient, family member, and colleague they encounter. There is no team more deserving of recognition for the extraordinary difference they make each day.
