This comes after years of working with Crystal professionally and personally, as she cares for my family members and me at Free State Family Medicine.

Nurses in primary care offices are so often overlooked, but really are the glue holding the majority of the health care system together. They become the safety net for patients and their families when other offices cannot see them in a timely manner, even though they are as busy or busier.

Crystal has always been a consistent presence, a smiling face, a reassuring phone call, and a shoulder to cry on when needed.

She and Dr. K work together as an amazing team and absolutely care about their patients' wellbeing.

Crystal is so quick with responses to calls or messages, and yet you never feel rushed or hurried with her. There is a feeling of relief when I am talking with her about my or my child's health concern, she is there to share the burden and help with problem solving the issue.

It says something when you look forward to going to the doctor's office, as you know you will get to see the nurse (and Dr. K too!).

Finding a PCP office in Lawrence is a struggle, so recognizing the hard work of the nurses who keep things running is more important now than ever.

Again, this is many years' worth of gratitude and appreciation flowing towards Crystal.
