I rushed my husband who was in excruciating pain from his gallbladder to the hospital. We spent time in the ER where he was given pain meds with no relief. Finally, the doctor ordered something stronger, but he was transferred to the observation unit to see a surgeon before the meds were given. We thought he would just be given the meds when he arrived in his new room, but unfortunately, they are not allowed to give fentanyl on the floor. Ashley immediately contacted the doctor to get new orders. When the doctor didn’t respond right away, she personally texted her and made sure my husband was given the pain meds he so desperately needed. Over the next 12 hours, she took amazing care of him, tending to his every need and explaining things as she went along. She also chatted with him, and they exchanged stories making my husband feel at ease. I appreciate how hard she worked to help my husband through the most painful event of his life. She was patient and empathetic and treated him with great kindness.
