I was working my primary ambulance job when we ran into a unique situation. A patient was discharged and was scheduled to Uber to the airport post-bilateral BKA procedure. The Uber driver elected not to wait for the patient to be brought down, resulting in my ambulance being sent after this patient.

He lived out of state and was being discharged with too much luggage to safely transport in the ambulance. Kenneth volunteered, at the end of a reported 16-hour night shift, to transport both the patient and the patient’s wife to the airport.

Additionally, he assisted with the complicated loading of this patient into a small private aircraft. This decision greatly assisted in the timely delivery of the patient, as well as being incredibly selfless.
