I am thrilled to nominate a caring and compassionate nurse for the DAISY Award. I met Olivia when I started my chemotherapy journey. It was determined that it would be good for me to get a port in order to receive my chemo. After speaking to someone who schedules these procedures, I wasn't comfortable with the plan. I called and left a message about my concerns, and the nurse returned my call very quickly. We discussed the situation, and she took the initiative to make some phone calls to organize an appointment for me. Olivia called me back and said I would receive a phone call later that day to confirm the appointment. My phone rang within the hour to confirm my appointment.

Olivia helped to relieve my anxiety, and I was now confident to receive my port and begin my chemotherapy. My scheduled appointment for the procedure went very well, and I was able to begin my chemotherapy treatments quickly. I am so truly thankful for the assistance this nurse gave me in securing this appointment. As of this date, I have completed my treatments. I know that Olivia's kindness and compassion assisted me on this scary journey. No one wants to hear they have cancer, but when you have someone like Olivia guiding you through the process, it truly makes a difference. This nurse truly deserves the DAISY Award, and I am so proud to nominate her.
