Overall, I think there is this sense of safety and comfort across the unit because of the solid foundation we have as a team, and I think Lane is the guiding hand that got us here.
Lane Branch is an exemplary nurse manager. She constantly gives 200% to her staff and her unit.
She came in to work during the recent snow and stayed overnight to ensure staffing had places to sleep. She provides redirection and discipline with compassion because she desires that her staff know how much they contribute to the unit, and she wants us to be proud of the job we do.
No matter how many things she needs to complete, nothing stops her from letting her coworkers come into her office to speak with her. She is always encouraging us to take the next steps in our careers - even if that means applying for a new position. She also does kind and supportive little things, like making sure she knows what our favorite snack is or sending a text to check in when we had a life event.
These things are small but are a constant reminder that she cares about her team.
