My wife originally came to this hospital with symptoms of an infection while she was pregnant. After days of testing, poking, and prodding, nothing was found. We were exhausted, and our hope was dwindling. Then, suddenly, our baby's heartbeat started taking a turn for the worse. My wife ended up having an emergency C-section.

In Mother and Infant, we had Tamekia as our nurse for three shifts. I believe she was one of the first nurses we had on the unit, as part of the team that led my wife and my child to an amazing recovery.

Our nurse was exceptional. She listened intently to our concerns and made sure to explain what was happening and why in great detail. Not once did Tamekia's attitude ever falter. She provided a pleasant experience during a very stressful situation. Her bedside manner is one to make an example of.

Overall, her drive and caring nature stood out during our entire stay. We had been in the ED for my wife's first symptoms, and we had been through Labor and Delivery for antepartum care, and Tamekia's care was excellent. She is an outstanding nurse and a highly motivated person.
