As a 4th-stage cancer patient, I have been in the care of many, many nurses in the last 10 years, but none of them deserve this award more than Carrie. She is the best nurse I have ever encountered. From the minute she is assigned to you, she bursts forth with this friendly but efficient, by-the-book, but always from the heart attitude. She loves to be a nurse, and it shows. She takes on her patients and her fellow nurses as if we were all her very, very special family of sorts, no matter what race, creed, or color.

She is so wonderful and cares so much- I cannot help but make this my plan for this award to be given to her. While other nurses phone it in, talk amongst themselves, and have an attitude toward you for whatever reason, this stunning example of a caregiver dives in and handles everything given to her with every kindness, genuine empathy, and compassion. I have never known a nurse before to give so much of herself to put her patient at ease, especially when the black hole moments of pain arise, and she comes in and provides such a safe environment for you- as well as creative bits like heating pads- and truly cares if you’ve eaten before the kitchen closes. Just anything to see her patients through the bad moments until you get to the other side. God bless her for her inexhaustible efforts, and God bless you for giving me this chance to nominate her again. I don't know how I will be able to look at another nurse without measuring her by this excellence. Thank you for your consideration.
